WWU's scholarship application runs from March through May for awards for the following academic year.
 

During the application cycle, there are many scholarships for current students based on a variety of criteria including academic achievement, financial need, program of study, talent and leadership. You don’t need to research individual WWU scholarships or apply for them individually—we do this part for you! Once the application closes, you will be matched to the scholarships you qualify for. 

Most merit awards for new students are awarded automatically by the Admissions Office. As you continue at Western, you will become eligible for more scholarship opportunities. Be sure to revisit the portal to apply for new scholarship opportunities each year! 

The majority of 2026-2027 WWU scholarships have been awarded and students notified. A small amount of remaining awards will be finalized by the start of fall quarter. All applicants will receive a communication by that time that awarding is complete.
